Sometimes you get a bit tired of the same old thing when it comes to movies. Whether it be special effects laden films, gross out comedies, or whatever Oscar bait dramaHollywood has decided to toss at audiences, theater goers might want something a bit fresh.

Not suggesting you can’t have a great time watching films that you can catch at a convenient local movie theater, because we always like an escape, which most movies provide. The point here is, why not try to widen up your selections, for such escapist fair.

A host of neighbors to Abberly Green offer such a variety, with a slew of upcoming film festivals. Most of these festivals aren’t around the corner, so why not make a weekend trip out of it? Reserve a room in one of the cities, and enjoy an entire weekend of movie watching, along with hanging out at a host of local haunts in each respective city.

Your escapist palate will be broadened, and you’ll have gotten a great weekend trip out of it. We’ve listed  a few of the  festivals below as provided by NC Film.com, but head here for a more complete list.

Car shows are pretty fun events to attend. Whether you’re an aficionado of older models or new models, anyone who has a desire to check out automobiles of all shapes and sizes should head out to a car show. In some cases you can see model’s from past decades, which you would probably only find in history books, or some Hollywood blockbusters.

To attend a show where popular models from next year will be displayed is always pretty fun, as you get a sneak peek behind the curtain. Either way, if  the sound of an engine revving gets you pumped up then its definitely best to attend a car show.

For Abberly Green car enthusiasts, on the first Saturday of the month until October, Mooresville hosts the Mooresville Cruise-In Classic Car Show. According to the Moorseville website, car enthusiasts will bring out their classic automobiles for the one day show to display in downtown Moorseville. The event is free of charge to attend, though event organizers ask that people contribute a canned good or cash donation if possible, as these proceeds are given to the local Moorseville/ Lake Norman Mission.

As explained on the event’s’ website, only vehicles from 1979 and before can be displayed and includes a selection of “Rat Rods, Trucks, Classics, American Muscles”. Head here and here for more information.

THE TOWN OF MOORESVILLE HOSTS THE “MOVIES ON MAIN” IS AT BELLINGHAM PARK FOR SEPTEMBER 25TH

Once a month normally around the third or fourth Saturday of the month you can come out to Bellingham Park and enjoy the wonder Movie on the Main.

The Town of Mooresville, North Carolina has been hosting this great event for months.  All throughout the summer many of our residents here at Abberly Green Apartments have gone out with their blankets to watch a great movie for this outdoor event.  In case it happens to rain this time the Movie on the Main will be relocated to the Charles Mack Citizen Center in downtown Mooresville.

Get ready for a fun filled adventure with Miley Cyrus as she stares in Hannah Montana the Movie.  This should be an entertaining film for adults and children.  Last month there were over 200 people some enjoy this town wide movie presentation.

Mooresville Job Club happens ever second and fourth Wednesday of the month.  Hosted by MPL Mooresville Public Library the Second Best Library in North Carolina, the Job Clubprovides an opportunity for job seekers and other professionals to come together over coffee and network.  If you are looking for a job or have open opportunities for others to be employed the Job Clubwould be a great place to network.

YOU’VE PROBABLY HEARD THIS OLD IDEA FROM YOUR PARENTS

This old ideas is something that you may have known for quite sometime.  If you’re anything like me then your mother, uncle or an older person in your family may have told you when you were younger.

This idea is simple.  Make sure that your personal space is clean and organized.

This includes your bedroom the major parts of your apartment and your vehicle.  This is the old idea.  If you keep these three main area’s clean you will notice that you become more punctual, your life will seem more ordered and your stress levels will drop lower and lower.

Have you ever heard the saying “It’s the small foxes that spoil the vine?”  Well, it can be quite simple to try to focus on the big problems in our lives but matters that have a big impact are the ones that are involved in the daily activities in our apartment living.

We hope that you take these bits of knowledge and begin to apply them into your lives beginning today.  We don’t live from event to event but we do live from moment to moment and from day to day.  It’s what happens in that time that builds most of our lives.  If we can master that then the rest is simple.

This is the Golden Age for Young Adult Readers

Young adults are reading more these days. You would imagine that with so many of the electronic devices like iPods and mp3 players that young adults or teens just wouldn’t make the time to read.  But not so.  Accommodations can be made these days for anyone to conveniently read and consume information on the go.
