October and the Halloween season is lots of fun for kids, but it can be fun for the adults too. If you live in an apartment in Mooresville, NC, and you love both tricks and treats, here are some fun Halloween events for you to choose from around Charlotte.
Do you love the thought of crazy costume parties as soon as October hits? Charlotte has plenty of choices. One of the most popular events is KISS 95.1’s Grave Diggers Ball, a concert and giant Halloween party held in Uptown Charlotte every year the Saturday before Halloween. This party has been around for years so make sure to get your tickets early. With past headliners like Katy Perry, Ke$ha and Flo Rida, you’re sure to get a good show with top-notch entertainment. Take your shot at the costume contest offering $1,000 for best costume and $500 for sexiest costume; the more creative, the better! If you want to keep the party going, check out the restaurant and nightlife scene in Center City after the ball.
If haunted houses are on your to-do list, no Halloween is complete without visiting some of the area’s biggest scream factories. The Campground Nightmare in Fort Mill, South Carolina, will offer you a hayride onto their eerie campsite, which will be sure to send chills down your spine. Be the lead role in your own scary movie as you dash away from bloodsucking vampires and chainsaw killers. If you want to calm your nerves after your frightful evening, stop into John’s Place, a full-service bar conveniently located on the premises.
Another favorite is The Haunted Mill in Belmont, North Carolina. This old mill is spooky enough from the outside but will give you chills as you turn every corner in this maze of a haunted house. With 16 years of operation, The Haunted Mill has perfected the art of all things scary and even offers a little something extra – black light mini golf, perfect for date night…if you dare!
If you’re looking to double the dose of adrenaline, head over to SCarowinds Halloween Haunt. As you walk through the spooky park, be on the lookout through the hazy fog for monsters that try to scare you (and usually succeed)! Whether you prefer ghoulish ghosts or creepy clowns, there are plenty of themed haunted houses and trails to choose from all throughout the park. And to top it off, the roller coasters are open throughout the evening. Don’t leave without riding the Intimidator, the longest, fastest and tallest coaster in the Southeast, in the dark.
